- Total building cost £18 million
- 164 new homes to be provided
At Bell Road Park Wood we are replacing several blocks of flats that were built in the 1960’s and that are now badly outdated.
We are replacing the existing properties with a mixture of houses and flats, providing 164 new homes in two phases. To encourage diversity in the area, we are planning not only homes for rent, but also homes that will be sold in shared ownership and homes that will be sold on the open market.
The first phase, comprising 82 homes is well under way and new homes have started to be handed over to tenants. Handovers will continue throughout the early part of 2007.
Most of the homes in this phase are being used to house tenants who are still living in the blocks which are to be demolished in the second phase of works. Once the first phase has been completed, the remaining blocks of flats will be demolished and new homes created. The second phase will comprise another 82 homes, of which around 30 will be sold.
We hope to have completed the scheme by the end of 2008.
Our second scheme is on the Coombe Farm Estate, comprising the majority of Coombe Road. We have now commenced the first of 60 new homes, and hope to begin to hand these over early in 2008
This scheme will be carried out in three phases, and will take until 2010 to complete.
164 new homes will be provided, replacing 122 existing houses. Again, there will be a mixture of flats and houses, and some houses and flats will be sold.

All tenants who currently live within the regeneration areas will be offered new homes in the schemes. One of our team will visit each household affected to discuss removal and relocation, and will explain how this will be done, and what compensation is available. We will look at household size and circumstances to ensure that your new home is the correct size
We have produced a leaflet which will help guide tenants through the process. You can access this here, or we will send you a copy if you wish.
We will advise of progress on the schemes as they proceed. Individual interviews will generally be held around 6 months before any likely moving date, so that we can allocate your new home to you, and give a choice of colours for equipment and finishes. These choices will be explained at your interview.
