We are actively building new homes to provide affordable housing. We do this through major regeneration schemes and smaller development projects. These pages give an overview of our current activity and past achievements.

Regeneration

The Trust is regenerating one area at present.

Park Wood

We have issued a demolition notice for some homes in Wallis Avenue, Longshaw Road and Brishing Lane in Park Wood. This enables the Trust to plan a new regeneration scheme in this area. PDF file of the initial demolition notice.

Coombe Road

  • Replacement of 117 properties
  • Started November 2006
  • Completion 2011
  • Total building cost £18 million
  • 153 new homes to be provided

On the Coombe Farm Estate, comprising the majority of Coombe Road, the first phase of 60 new homes has now been completed and tenants have moved in. We have now started work on the second phase where properties will begin to be handed over towards the end of 2009. A third phase will then complete the scheme.

153 new homes in total will be provided, replacing 117 existing houses. There will be a mixture of flats and houses, and some houses and flats will be sold.

Development

In 2008 we completed twenty seven new homes on five small infill sites across the Park Wood area.

We have been granted planning permission to develop eighteen bungalows in Longshaw Road, Maidstone.
