Twenty-three Families in Tonbridge and Malling have moved into brand new affordable homes with Maidstone Housing Trust. The Trust purchased the properties on the Leybourne Park development from the developer Barratt Homes, and has worked in partnership with Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council to offer the homes to local people.

Resident Danielle Goodley said “We are so pleased. We have a new baby daughter and were staying with family. Now we have our first family home and are settling into family life together”.

Peter Stringer, Chief Executive of Maidstone Housing Trust added “These properties are the first Maidstone Housing Trust homes in Tonbridge and Malling. Whilst this is a business opportunity for us, we get a real boost from people’s joy and excitement as they move into their new homes.”

Maidstone Housing Trust developed the properties with funding from the Homes and Communities Agency, the Government agency which funds affordable housing. Other recent new affordable homes completed by the Trust include

    • 23 homes at Blue Quarter, Maidstone
    • 44 homes (34 designated for older people) at Maidstone Junction, Maidstone
    • Eight in Roman Way, Park Wood
    • Three new homes in Fir Tree Close, Staplehurst
