A property in Willington Street, Maidstone, has been closed for three months under a Crack house Closure order, following months of work by Maidstone Housing Trust staff, customers and local Police.

A court order issued on Tuesday 8 July bans anyone, including the tenant, from returning to the property following evidence of illegal drug activity and anti-social behaviour. The action is part of a wider police operation which resulted in a number of raids and arrests across the town last week.

Community Safety Manager Lisa Smith said “People do not want drugs in their community. We will continue to work with residents, Kent Police and other agencies to tackle illegal and anti-social activity.”

Maidstone Housing Trust will be seeking to take possession of the property, and are taking further action against other customers identified during the Police operation who were using Maidstone Housing Trust property for illegal and anti-social purposes.
