Customers who receive support from Maidstone Housing Trust to live independently in Sheltered Housing or in their own home have a new forum to discuss issues with the Trust.

The Trust's Supporting People team held the first 'Us Supporting U' meeting at Hardwick House in Shepway on Tuesday 27 November. Customers from across the borough came to the meeting.

It is hoped this will be the start of regular meetings with this group of customers, allowing face to face discussions on issues which affect them. At the first meeting they heard an update on the Kent County Council plans for the Supporting People budget and work, information on the work the Trust does to combat anti-social behaviour and build communities, and details of the Trust's Welfare Benefits advisor and the support he can offer.
