Staff at Maidstone Housing Trust introduced their children to the workplace today as part of a ‘bring your child to work’ initiative.

Children aged between 11 and 15 spent time seeing what their parent does all day long, and were introduced to the different work of the trust, including property development planning, tenancy management, supporting older people through the Lifeline alarm system and IT systems.

Emma Baker and Elizabeth Blundell, both pupils at Roseacre Primary School, said “We’ve really enjoyed the day, but have been surprised at how much hard work it is”.

Human Resources and Oragnisational Development Manager Jenny Packer organised the visits and commented “It was fascinating to hear what the young people thought of our work and add a new perspective to some of our thinking. We really enjoyed this opportunity to mix family and business life and give young people an insight to the world of work. We will encourage more staff and children to join us next year”.
