Green Lights for Maidstone Housing Trust

Maidstone Housing Trust has been awarded top marks on its service delivery and management in a recent assessment by the Housing Corporation.

The Trust, which manages over 6000 homes in Maidstone, has been praised for improving the turnaround time on letting properties and the preparations it has made for regeneration schemes. The report also commends the strong and effective Board of Directors, an enthusiastic commitment to resident involvement and the financial stability of the organisation. The Trust five year promises on stock improvement are on target as work has now been completed on a third of its homes.

Peter Stringer, Chief Executive of the Trust, said “I am delighted to receive such a positive report from our regulators. Everyone at Maidstone Housing Trust works hard to deliver the best service we can to our residents, and whilst we can always do better I'm proud of the achievements we've made”.

Assessments use “traffic lights” to indicate how well the Trust is meeting the Regulatory Code, the Trust achieved green lights for every area. The Housing Corporation is the government agency responsible for regulating housing associations in England.

The HCA report will be available on http://www.housingcorp.gov.uk/server/show/nav.526 from Tuesday 19 September.
