Maidstone Housing Trust looks to the future at AGM
![]() |
Regeneration in Maidstone is the critical key to successfully building strong communities and improving the whole town, according to Chris Blundell, Maidstone Housing Trust Director of Regeneration and Asset Management.
Mr Blundell gave the keynote presentation with Dennis Seal, Managing Director of Kier Partnership Homes at the Maidstone Housing Trust AGM and stakeholder event on Thursday 7 September. Business and political leaders joined residents and voluntary organisations for the occasion, held at the Trust's headquarters in Allington.
Maidstone Housing Trust and Kier Partnership Homes are working together to regenerate significant areas of Maidstone. The first new homes in Park Wood are due to be handed over in the next two months; and work begins in Coombe Road in November. Each development will create over 160 new high quality homes, with attention to the environment, improving the community and creating areas people will enjoy living in.
Since 2004 the Trust has renovated over 2600 kitchens and bathrooms. In 2005 / 06 it spent a total of £11.9 million on improving homes, and £9.6 million developing new homes. In addition to the major regeneration schemes, the trust is currently building 27 new homes on smaller developments and is consulting with local people on plans to improve the environment and landscaping many of our communities.
Kier Partnership Homes, part of the Kier Group, is a specialist provider of affordable housing and offers innovative solutions to every aspect of site development from procurement to construction, for new build projects.
