Maidstone Housing Trust receives Government money for new homes

After just two and a half years, Maidstone Housing Trust has received its first Government funding for new houses and is preparing to give tenants the keys to new homes.

The Trust has claimed the first half of a £560,000 grant from the Housing Corporation for ten new homes in the Park Wood regeneration project. The houses are currently under construction and are on target for the first tenants to move in later this year.

Chris Blundell, Director for Regeneration and Asset Management commented, “In social housing terms we are still a relatively young organisation. Thanks to the co-operation of Maidstone Borough Council and the hard work of Trust staff, I'm delighted that we are providing much needed new homes for the people of Maidstone”.

As a Registered Social Landlord, Maidstone Housing Trust owns and manages over 6200 properties across the Maidstone area. The Trust is regulated by the Housing Corporation, who also provide funding for new social housing.
