Introducing Mears

The Trust had recently publicised that we had appointed a new contractor, Botes Building Ltd and that they were due to start formally with the Trust in June.

However, circumstances beyond our direct control meant it was no longer appropriate to issue the responsive repairs contract to Botes. In summary Botes were unable to fulfill the contract criteria having been placed in administration just before the 'go live' date.

We are pleased to advise that arrangements have started to place a contract with Mears. Mears originally tendered for the work and they are a leading company in providing responsive repair services to tenanted homes. They have been working in the Kent area for over 16 years and their references from other landlords are excellent.

Mears have a proven track record in meeting customer needs and throughout their operation they handle in excess of 2.800 repairs every day. Mears started working for the Trust on Monday 3rd July concentrating on priority repairs. They are preparing to offer the full service as from Monday 7th August 2006.

We apologise for any disruption during this period and would ask you to bear with us. We can assure you we will do everything possible to deliver the service you need. We have in place, a full out of hours service and are definitely geared up to deal with all emergencies. In the meantime, we are confident that the service will improve, but would ask for your continued understanding.

Please continue to report repairs on 01622 212700 as normal where one of our team will be pleased to help. Alternatively you can report your repair in the appropriate area on this website.
