Tenant Representatives
![]() |
Effective resident involvement is all about working together to make positive changes in an open, honest and straightforward way. We want people to live in stable, well ordered, clean and happy communities. However, many people have lots of views about the best way forward and want to know how decisions are reached and how they can influence decisions that affect them. Generally decisions should be made in the best interest of as many people as possible.
Area representatives or Village Voices speak on behalf of others and are especially successful in rural communities. Acting as a Tenant or Resident Representative
can be rewarding and fulfilling. Representatives ensure that communication is two-way and feedback any outcomes to residents and the Trust can provide help and support with this.
Representatives should always put the views of those they speak for above their own. Again there is lots of support, training and help available from the Trust to assist people who wish to act as a representative
.
