Other remedies to tackle anti-social behaviour
The Anti-Social Behaviour Act 2003 gave us new powers to deal with anti social behaviour. Different elements of the Act were brought into force during 2004.
Action Against Non Tenants - A new type of injunction can be taken out against those people that cause anti-social behaviour to our tenants in cases of persistent or serious behaviour.
Demoted Tenancies - The introduction of ‘Demoted Tenancies’ also means that a tenant can have their tenancy reduced or ‘demoted’ to a tenancy that is less secure. This would be obtained through the County Court. A demoted tenancy lasts for one year.
